The CRF450R receives a number of important updates for 2019. Better engine performance is achieved through a new combustion-chamber shape, as well as improved over-rev characteristics through a refined oil-management system. The CRF450R offers class-leading power and handling backed by the kind of quality only Honda provides.
The frame and swingarm have been revised for optimized rigidity and weight reduction, while the braking system has been updated with a lightweight front brake calliper featuring a large-piston design. As a result of the weight-saving measures, the CRF450R is lighter than its predecessor.
The CRF450RX with a pure moto-cross DNA to deal with any special enduro stage and has the confidence-inspiring competence to handle flat-out trails, challenging climbs and tight, tricky sections with ease. The CRF450RX is something truly special, not just for Honda, but for the enduro world to ride and race. It looks different and feels different to the rest of the pack. And, just like the new CRF450R, it is compellingly fast.
The 2017 CRF450RX is identical in almost every area to the 2017 CRF450R, but has some crucial changes to create an uncompromising enduro focus. Both front and rear suspension are less firm, with lighter compression damping and a lower spring rate for the shock. It uses an enduro-standard 18in rear wheel, and sidestand and 8.5L fuel tank are also added for practicality and extended range.
The CRF450RXs PGM-FI ignition timing map produces softer power and torque delivery than the CRF450R to aid traction feel in awkward conditions. Electric start is fitted as standard.
The CRF250R received a major overhaul in 2018 including a brand new DOHC engine, revised geometry including a lower centre of gravity for improved stability and traction as well as a re-designed dual exhaust and intake system.
For 2019, the CRF250R has received further updates, with increased low-to-midrange engine performance for improved corner exiting. Inspired by the factory version, the Double Overhead Cam engine features updated cam profiles and intake- and exhaust-port profiles, a 50mm shorter right exhaust pipe, and a 2mm smaller throttle body.
Riders can select from three engine modes for ideal performance depending on conditions, while HRC launch control has been adopted for improved race-start performance. A Renthal Fatbar handlebar sits in a four-position-adjustable top clamp, while the braking system has been updated with a lighter, CRF450R-inspired caliper with larger piston for optimum braking performance. Black rims are standard.
Younger racers may be smaller in stature, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a giant-sized heart for racing—and winning. So for these younger racers, Honda designed the CRF150RB as an integral part of the CRF racing lineup. The bigger wheel size of the CRF150RB, 19 inch front and 16 inch rear, will be ideal for the taller kids.
Liquid-cooled 149cc,4-stroke engine offers unrivalled performance and ease of use. Lightweight, compact, internal auto decompression and handlebar-mounted hot-start system provide easy starting, hot or cold
Honda Off Road – Trail Motorbikes
If you’re looking for a trail bike look no further than Elliott Bros of Bendigo. No matter what your off-road bike adventure plans we have the bike for you.
It is unmistakably a race-bred CRF – and looks it – but with the additions and modifications needed to be the road-legal dual-purpose Enduro we’ve been waiting for. As such, the CRF450L is a complete package, as happy roosting trails as it is linking them up on-road. It’s still a CRF450R; just one that’s quieter, from the engine to the new exhaust. Both fuelling and ignition maps are now managed by an 02 lambda sensor; compression ratio has been lowered and crank mass increased for improved drivability. The gearbox is a 6-speed – for longer legs on the road – and a cush drive has been added to the 18-inch Enduro spec rear wheel.
The plastics are lifted directly from the CRF450R and all lighting is LED, with the front headlight in particular throwing out a penetrating beam. Increased volume for the titanium fuel tank adds range and all the items that make the CRF450L ready to purchase as a licensed, road going machine – such as speedometer, horn, indicators and mirrors – are standard. When it’s a Honda, build quality and superior engineering are always a given, but this is where the CRF450L really stands out; it is designed to go 32,000km between major strip downs! From the trail-rider’s perspective, that’s all you want and need – something that is beyond reliable and expected of a new Honda Enduro machine. The CRF450L raises the bar in all areas.
The CRF250L has been revised with styling cues taken directly from Honda’s CRF250R and CRF450R MX machines, the new CRF250L is ready for anything a rider can throw at it: it’s tough, practical and equally at home around a city block or out on the trail.
Well proven, the CRF250L’s tough steel frame and long travel Showa suspension remain unchanged, but new bodywork draws its influence from the minimalism for the CRF450R MX for a sharper, slimmed-down look.
